Hiya!
Does anyone know if there’s a way to date these scarves, by color maybe, or was this design released in all colors at once? Something tells me that it wasn’t though. I have one that’s white that i would like to to put up for sale but this is now the 4th one that i’ve come across and i fell like i would love to learn more about it before i let it go. Also… are all Hermes scarves signed Hermes and by the designer or are there those that have only the “design” without any names?
Thank you
Hello…You have come to the right place to begin your search for answers. Baptiste will likely respond to your request and that should prove helpful. Let me add that the name given this design is “Astrologie” and was first issued in 1963. It was common to have a dozen or so colorways with each new design. In addition, there have been at least four other reissues of this design all of which may have added new colorways. If your scarf still has a care label attached, it may help to identify which year it was issued. Best of luck…Jeff
Thank you very much
I came here to ask the same question
Mine is pretty similar. How do I know it’s Hermes if there doesn’t seem to be any signature or label or name anywhere?
Astrologie is a very popular model with many re-editions. It’s so popular that it was also released as a dress and reissued recently with different color as a carré de toujours (“carré of forever”).
If present, the care tag is probably the best way to date the carré. Otherwise, I have seen some re-editions with and without the signature, as well as variations in its position, which are likely related to the year of re-edition.
When present, the signature is located at the bottom right. You can check different color variations, and you’ll see the signature.
