Hello everyone,
I’m hoping to tap into the incredible knowledge of this community to help me identify a Hermès scarf that I’m struggling to find any information about online.
It’s a large, 140cm x 140cm scarf made of a very light and sheer silk mousseline (chiffon).
Key features:
-
Design: The pattern is very graphic and abstract, arranged in horizontal bands. It looks like a labyrinth or a geometric design. The name “HERMES” is cleverly integrated as the very bottom band of the pattern itself.
-
Printing Style: The most unique feature is the printing technique. It has a soft, blurry effect that strongly resembles an ikat, shibori, or batik dye process, rather than a sharp screen print. The main colors are a deep indigo blue and a lighter blue/white.
-
Details: It has a hand-rolled hem (roulotté) and the classic black composition tag that reads “MADE IN FRANCE, SOIE 100% SILK” with dry clean symbols.
I have already looked into designs like “Lettres d’Erevan” and Bali Barret’s “H en Labyrinthe”, but I can confirm it is neither of those. The style of this one seems quite distinct.
Could anyone possibly know the official name of this design, the artist who created it, or the approximate year/collection it might be from?
I’ve attached several photos showing the full scarf, a close-up of the pattern, the tag, and the hand-rolled hem.
Thank you so much in advance for your time and expertise!
