Looking for confirmation that my mother's scarves are authentic Hermes

Hello all,

I am not by any means knowledgeable about Hermes.

I have two silk scarves that my mother purchased in Paris in 1962.

I have been told that they are Hermes and AI has said they are Hermes, but I can find no signature on either.

Online searches for these patterns have been fruitless.

Is it possible for someone in the community to help me determine whether these are in fact Hermes?

They are each approx 29” square.

Being new to the group, I’m only allowed to upload one image!

The other scarf is a nautical pattern. Perhaps I will have to make another post?

Realize too that they’ve been sitting folded in a drawer for nearly 70 years.

Gratefully,

Liz

Hi! I don’t think these are Hermès scarves. I don’t recognize the design, and genuine Hermès scarves have the “Hermès” signature printed in the pattern, so the lack of one is a strong sign they’re from another maker.

The size also rules it out. 29" is about 74 cm, which isn’t a Hermès size, and Hermès wasn’t making 70 cm scarves in 1962 anyway; that format came much later.

My knowledge is limited to Hermès scarves, so I’m afraid I can’t tell you who the maker might be, but I hope someone else in the group can help!

Thank you Baptiste so very much! I couldn’t find any sort of maker’s mark on either of these and someone who I thought had some knowledge told me they are Hermes. I appreciate your expertise and reply to my post. Best wishes, Elizabeth
