Hi, I recently purchased an Hermès “Les Clés” scarf in the red and white colorway. I found the same version on ScarfSage, which was reassuring — but I noticed a few differences and wanted to ask for opinions.
•Mine has a © mark, but the one on ScarfSage does not.
•It also has a very small single care tag.
•The logo is printed in black on a white background.
This scarf has a very small care tag sewn on one side, simply stating “100% SOIE” (100% silk). The tag is about 1 cm in size, and the stitching is somewhat rough with slight fraying on the edges.
On the reverse side of the tag, there are care symbols printed, including a mark indicating dry cleaning.
Do these features still seem consistent with an authentic vintage version?
Any thoughts or insights would be appreciated. Thank you!
It sounds like your scarf is authentic, but likely a later reissue rather than the original edition shown on ScarfSage. Les Clés was first issued in 1965, and given its popularity, it has likely seen several re-editions over the years — both in original and new colorways. The presence of the © mark and a modernized care tag is typical of more recent versions. Hermès has updated their labeling and finishing details over time, so small differences like these are expected.
Tracking the exact year of a re-edition can be difficult, but overall, the features you described are consistent with a genuine Hermès scarf from a later production.

Thank you so much for your detailed and thoughtful response!
I’m really relieved to hear that my scarf is authentic, even if it’s a later reproduction.
Your explanation about the care tags and © mark makes perfect sense, and I truly appreciate the time you took to share your knowledge.
I’ve been a bit lost trying to figure this out, so your reply means a lot to me.
Thanks again!

If you don’t mind me asking, may I ask what aspects helped you determine its authenticity? I’d love to learn more for future reference!
I can’t be 100% sure without examining it and feeling the silk with my hands, but the hems, design, and colors look genuine to me.
